Denys Sokolov (born 1990– ) is a visionary Ukrainian furniture designer, famed for sculptural organic upholstered seating balancing art and practicality. Co-founder of Svoya Studio, he grew up immersed in handcrafted furniture craft, then devoted himself to sculptural furniture design after finishing industrial design training.
In 2017, Sokolov began long-term collaboration with Ukrainian brand NOOM, leading the brand’s artistic furniture transformation. He experimented with layered soft foam and full upholstered wood frames, pioneering rounded volumetric seating forms. His early sculptural lounge prototypes laid groundwork for his iconic Hello series.
Unveiled in 2024 at Milan Design Week, the Hello Chair Noom—bulbous, fully upholstered and soft foam padded—redefined modern sculptural accent seating. Its signature chunky rounded leg silhouette became a global design highlight, exhibited across international design fairs. A master of playful soft volumetric forms, Sokolov left distinctive creative marks on contemporary collectible furniture design.
